WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS :
Reporting to the Director of Network & Schedule Planning, the primary responsibility of the Manager, Network & Schedule Planning will be to evaluate and develop the network and high utilization schedule in line with the strategic and financial needs of the business.
This role includes but is not limited to, market and competitor assessment, route selection, capacity allocation, bilateral designations, license approvals, and schedule development / maintenance and slot coordination.

WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS :
Reporting to the Director of Network & Schedule Planning, the primary responsibility of the Manager, Network & Schedule Planning will be to evaluate and develop the network and high utilization schedule in line with the strategic and financial needs of the business.
This role includes but is not limited to, market and competitor assessment, route selection, capacity allocation, bilateral designations, license approvals, and schedule development / maintenance and slot coordination.
Responsibilities
- Designing the optimal network and schedule to deliver on the 5-year business plan.
- Assessing and optimizing the network based on historical and forecast financial performance.
- Developing a fleet and capacity growth plan to deliver on the airline's business plan.
- Assessing the market and the competition in terms of strategic plans, seasonal developments in capacity, analyzing strengths / weaknesses and recommending actions based on the risks and opportunities.
- Assessing and recommending new routes and markets based on strategic fit, financial potential, growth opportunity, risks, and possible entry points.
- Developing route profitability and other financial tools to assess the performance of existing routes based on historical data.
- Develop action plans to improve or withdraw from underperforming routes and to optimize outperforming routes.
- Develop forecasting tools to create short, medium, and long-term forecasts to input into the airline's budgeting and reporting processes.
- Working collaboratively with commercial teams to optimize the revenue generated from the network and adjusting the network and schedule as required.
- Working collaboratively with operations teams to ensure the schedule is efficient and operationally viable, with particular regard to utilization of crew and aircraft resources.
- Loading and managing flight capacity in the scheduling and flight operation systems.
- Securing and maintaining airport slots for future schedules.
- Aligning and managing the communication and approval process between the scheduling and operational departments.
- Securing route permits and / or authorizations in a timely manner.
- Building relationships with airports and third parties (regions, tourism bodies, etc.).

Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant Network / Scheduling experience with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
- Completed university or college degree.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Business mindset and ability to synthesize information into recommendations.
- Excellent oral and written presentation skills.
- Team-work and strong interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to travel as required away from Head Office.
