As a Financial Systems Analyst within the TELUS Channels and Retail Finance team, you will be part of a highly collaborative team that supports new and exciting projects as a Finance subject matter expert.

You will work with different teams across the organization to deliver on key projects that will transform our business and address challenges in the dynamic settings.

At the core of your talents is your innate ability to communicate complex financial and systems knowledge to stakeholders in all levels of the organization.

Here’s how

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across TELUS to ensure new projects are tested and functioning correctly from a financial perspective (reporting, financial data integrity, accuracy, etc.)
  • Identify defects and work with BT / Developers to fix before any projects go live into production
  • Summaries and communicate project status, issues and recommendations to Senior Leaders in a manner that supports final approval for projects to go live into production
  • Be available for early morning release day testing as required to sign-off on final release into production ( 5AM EST a few times a month)

Project Management and Business Requirement development

  • Be extremely organized to ensure that deliverables for all the various projects are met within the agreed upon timelines
  • Leverage cross-functional relationships to ensure the interests of Finance are met and be able to lead / manage peers
  • Develop business requirements to ensure financial controls and data integrity are at the forefront of any new project

Ad-Hoc

  • Identify, develop and implement process improvements in the TELUS Channels and Retail team (including both Finance and Business unit initiatives)
  • Provide support and ad-hoc analysis as required to support decision making
  • Perform various financial month-end duties as required, which may include account / bank reconciliations, accrual journal entries, financial / KPI reporting, etc

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to scope out difficult tasks & projects, set objectives and goals, develop schedules, priorities multiple activities, and anticipate roadblocks
  • Able to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and goals in fast-paced, ever-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment

Self-starter :

High standards of performance and a strong desire to learn

Great-to-haves

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant financial or project management / UAT experience
  • Experience with month-end close work, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations and controls monitoring & remediation
  • Business, Finance or Accounting related degree
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong time management, problem solving and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
  • Known for your collaborative spirit and ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment and build good working relationships to influence others at all levels of the organization
  • Telecom / IT and / or Retail Operations work experience considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Experience with GSuite, especially GSheet
