Tax Analyst

Summary

Reporting to the Global Tax Manager, the Tax Analyst will play an integral part in Enerflex’s global tax provision, compliance and assist in executing global tax strategy.

This requires working closely with the Enerflex operating regions, to streamline provision and compliance process and gain broad understanding of the business units.

The successful candidate will be excited to take on a wide range of domestic and international tax responsibilities.

With a foundation of integrity, the candidate would use commitment and creativity to drive our organization forward. Office location will be the Enerflex Downtown Calgary office.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepare quarterly global tax provision under IFRS by working with multiple regions to collect data and applying fundamental tax concepts.
• Build close working relationships with regional accounting and tax team to keep up to date on major transactions.
• Keep dynamic and well-disciplined working papers that maximizes efficiency.
• Preparation of Canadian corporate tax returns, including T106, T1134 and Country-by-Country Reporting.
• Work closely with Canadian accounting team to continuously improve the process and gain better understanding of intercompany transactions.
• Assist with reviewing international compliance.
• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years related tax experience.
• Professional designation or equivalent experiences required (CPA or equivalent).
• Broad Canadian income tax knowledge with an appreciation of cross border and global tax issues.
• Self-motivated and willing to roll up your sleeves to get things done.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex concepts to management and non-tax practitioners.
