Job Opportunity :
Join our dynamic team as Controller (Lead)! We’re looking for a skilled, finance professional to lead and manage all accounting functions, while providing strategic financial insights to the CFO and Executive Team.
Key Responsibilities :
- Plan, manage, and oversee all accounting operations, including the preparation of financial statements, spend reports, and analyses for multiple developments.
- Ensure accurate and timely HST and WSIB filings in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Prepare cash flow analyses for various properties, including reporting for JV / LP agreements on a monthly and / or quarterly basis.
- Lead month-end close procedures with Co-Controllers, and guide junior staff through the process, delivering monthly reports to the CFO.
- Collaborate with the CFO to refine procedures, improve efficiency, and measure financial performance.
- Present monthly, quarterly, and annual operating results for developments, and identify and correct any variances from budget.
- Support quarterly management reporting for rental projects and assist in presentations to the Executive Team.
- Prepare TMI reconciliations for commercial tenants and issue invoices as needed.
- Keep the CFO informed on emerging accounting issues and their potential impact on financial reporting.
- Contribute to cost control initiatives and explore revenue enhancement opportunities.
- Maintain precise and comprehensive documentation and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all financial data and reports.
- Assist in both internal and external audits, preparing year-end working papers for auditors.
- Provide strategic analysis to the CFO and Executive Team to inform critical decision-making.
- Provide leadership oversight to other internal Controller positions.
- Other support as required by CFO and Executive Team.

Qualifications :
- 3+ years’ experience in a senior financial leadership role.
- CPA designation is an asset.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, cash flow analysis, and month-end close procedures.
- Proven experience in leading and motivating teams to achieve goals and deliver high-quality results.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and regulations.
- Self-motivated with a strong ability to multitask and work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present financial data to the Executive Team.
- Proven experience in team management and leadership.
