One of our clients is looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator to join their growing team. This is a full-time opportunity involves developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and policies to prevent accidents and promote the well-being of warehouse employees.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Design and implement warehouse-specific occupational health and safety programs.
- Develop and update safety procedures tailored to warehouse operations.
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal safety regulations applicable to operations.
- Investigate warehouse accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage the process of Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) claims, including timely reporting, documentation, and follow-up.
- Maintain detailed records of safety activities, including training sessions, inspections, incidents, and WCB claims.
- Generate reports for warehouse management to assess safety performance.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in occupational health and safety or a related field.
- Relevant certification in occupational health and safety.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and educate staff on safety matters.
- Knowledge of updated and applicable safety regulations and best practices.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using software for record-keeping and data analysis.
Note that flexibility on work schedule and being open to work any day throughout the week is necessary to support the business operations.
