Overview
The Technical Proposal Writer creates proposals related to building / property condition assessments, energy audits, and related engineering design activities.
This position requires gathering information, formatting the information according to the company's policies, obtaining supervisor approval, and sending the proposal to the appropriate source.
Essential Job Functions
- Researching, writing, and organizing information in a professional and credible manner.
- Online research and sourcing of opportunities from internet portals and corporate websites.
- Editing and customizing proposal content, as required.
- Collecting data for the proposal development process.
- Preparing, organizing, and maintaining proposal templates under the guidance of the business development and operations team representatives.
- Attending meetings and identifying opportunities for proposal writing.
- Prioritizing responsibilities to meet deadlines.
- Editing and revising proposals according to feedback.
- Maintaining consistency in proposal writing by following company policies.
Required Experience, Education and Certifications
- Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in an applicable or related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in a related role.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
- Experience in Marketing / Communication and be a very well-organized person.
- Past experience in SharePoint software.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong working knowledge of word processing software.
- Excellent computer and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Excellent written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Good strategic planning abilities.
Physical Demands, Overtime, and Travel Requirements
Physical Demands Work is performed primarily in an office setting. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, crouch, hear, and talk (must be able to speak and communicate clearly with others).
Employee may lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary.
Overtime There will be some occasions where overtime (or working after normal business hours) will be required to meet the demands of the position.
Travel Not expected for this position.
