YOUR ROLE
The Kruger Kamloops Pulp Mill is recruiting for one Entry Level Power Engineer for our Power and Recovery department.
New employees start with a three-day orientation and are provided extensive safety and job specific training. Schedules are typically 12-hour shifts on a 4 on, 4 off rotation.
Employees work two-day shifts, followed by two-night shifts, and then have four days off.
The starting wage is $34.72 per hour with opportunities to develop new skills and increase wages by training up the departmental lines of progression.
This permanent full-time position involves shift work, manual labour and equipment operation.
Power and Recovery is responsible for the recovering of chemicals that were used to turn the wood chips into pulp. This department also generates power to support the mill.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
The Entry Level position offers variety in the work that is performed, including indoor and outdoor work. Common duties include :
üEquipment operation involving a vacuum truck, forklift, Bobcat, etc.
üPre-start checks and operation of equipment
üArea clean-up
üEnsuring processes and equipment run safely

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
ü4th Class (or higher) Power Engineering Certification
üHigh school diploma or equivalent
üValid Class 5 Driver's License or eligibility to drive in Canada
üExperience working in a safety sensitive industrial environment
üPrevious related experience an asset
