Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in :
- Project Support : Assist in the planning and execution of transportation projects, including traffic studies, parking studies, functional designs, transit planning, and pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure design.
- Data Collection and Analysis : Collect, analyze, and interpret transportation data such as traffic counts, travel surveys, and demographic information.
- Report Preparation : Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, planning documents, and presentations. Summarize findings, provide recommendations, and support the communication of project outcomes to clients and stakeholders.
- Public and Stakeholder Engagement : Participate in public meetings, workshops, and stakeholder consultations. Assist in developing engagement materials, gathering public input, and addressing community concerns.
- Research and Best Practices : Conduct research on transportation planning best practices, emerging trends, and innovative solutions.
- Collaboration : Work closely with senior planners, engineers, and other team members to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate transportation planning with land use, environmental, and economic development goals.
Project Management Support : Assist project managers with scheduling, budgeting, and project tracking tasks
What you bring to the team :
A degree in civil engineering, or a diploma in civil engineering technology, with a transportation focus.
The appropriate candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong interest and knowledge in some, or all, of the following areas :
- Transportation impact studies
- Parking studies
- Road safety studies
- Traffic calming studies
- Warrant analysis for traffic control devices
- Working knowledge of intersection performance software
- Active transportation and transportation demand management (TDM) programs
- Proficient use of AutoCAD.
- Well-developed report writing, organization and interpersonal skills.
- Effective project management and collaboration skills
- Strong technical foundation with an understanding of the multidisciplinary aspects of transportation engineering projects
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office, PowerPoint and Excel
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment under tight deadlines
- Ability to independently work under tight timelines
- Strong written, verbal and graphic communication skills
