General Information :
Looking for a highly motivated engineer to join our experienced engineering team in the growing transformer repair and service business in Canada.
You will be responsible for various electrical engineering tasks with such functions as analysis, design, development, test, installation, and service, while working from instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, and other pertinent information.
In this position you will be located in Stoney Creek, ON and will be reporting to the engineering manager.
Responsibilities :
Complete electrical design for the repair of different transformer sizes (10 1000 MVA) and legacy technologies (ABB / GE / Westinghouse or ASEA) including industrial transformers.
Perform engineering design studies (thermal, dielectric, etc) on existing transformers and provide technical support for transformer field service.
Plan and coordinate engineering analyses and tests, and prepare related reports and summaries, for review.
Work closely with the engineering team.
Provide support to transformer repair factory and participate in on site transformer inspections.
Qualifications :
Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering.
P. Eng. Designation is a plus
5+ years of Transformer design experience
Special transformers (furnace, rectifier, shell type etc) electrical design experience would be a plus.
Hitachi Energy electrical design tools and standards experience or equivalent.
Transformer electrical design calculations
Proficient with computer and software-MS Office
Demonstrated self-starter with effective planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to formulate solutions to technical problems
