Equinox Engineering Ltd. is a Calgary-based EPCM firm. We are a market leader in oil and gas processing specializing in facilities design, implementation and operational assistance for natural gas, conventional oil, heavy oil and carbon capture projects.
Our clients include several of the largest oil and gas producers in Canada and worldwide, and we are currently executing a wide range of sweet gas, sour gas, conventional oil and heavy oil facility and pipeline projects.
Summary :
The Piping Engineering Team Lead plans and directs all aspects of Piping Engineering activities within the department. Ensures all Piping Engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established objectives.
Overseas the Piping Engineering team across our global offices, including Canada, Australia, USA, and India.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee a team of piping, stress, pipeline and materials engineers.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of Piping Engineering deliverables.
- Hire, train, and mentor engineers and supporting staff.
- Generate engineering hour estimates, resource loading and forecasting.
- Ensure effective use of global workshare to meet corporate requirements.
- Assist in leading and execution of project deliverables.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor Piping Engineering procedures and standards.
- Liaise with Piping, Mechanical, Supply Chain and Project Management.
- Review and manage Client requirements and expectations.
- Develop, manage, and implement project specifications.
- Assist upper management in short / term planning and business strategies.
- Coordinate staff performance reviews and training.
- Demonstrate commitment to the Health and Safety program.
- Assist with business development and client relationships.
- Industry networking and contacts.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership, mentorship, and supervisory skills.
- Experience in managing multi-discipline teams, including global workshare.
- Effectively resolve interdisciplinary issues, or concerns that arise within a team environment.
- Broad exposure to natural gas, conventional oil and heavy oil facility design and construction.
- Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.1 and CSA Z662 (should be able to perform wall thickness calculations and provide guidance on any out of the ordinary piping questions).
- Piping Engineering and Stress Analysis
- Knowledge of Materials and Supply Chain
- Knowledge of welding, materials and piping stress is required. Must be able to coordinate with SME’s and be able to navigate any issues on these subjects.
Education and Qualifications :
- Successful candidate will be Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) within the province of Alberta.
- Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Minimum 15+ year’s oil and gas experience (with EPCM background).
