Contract Duration : 02 / 16 / 2026 to 04 / 30 / 2026

Possibility of extension & conversion to FTE : Possible

Schedule Hours : 9am-5pm Monday-Friday;standard 37.5 hrs / week (Possible OT)

Story Behind the Need (Reason for hiring)

The team requires an experienced Mainframe Developer to support ongoing enhancements, maintenance, and modernization of core banking systems. This role fills a critical need for strong COBOL / JCL expertise to ensure stability, performance, and compliance across high volume, high availability host applications.

Business group :

Core Banking Technology / Mainframe Development

Project :

Support and enhancement of host / mainframe applications, including COBOL / JCL batch processes, DB2 / IMS integrations, and environment management through ACF and Endevor. Work includes modernization initiatives, defect resolution, and delivery of new business functionality.

Candidate Requirements / Must Have Skills

1. 10+ years of host / mainframe development experience using COBOL and JCL.

2. 5+ years of hands on experience with ACF, Endevor, DB2, and IMS.

3. Experience delivering large scale projects through iterative or Agile SDLC.

4. Strong understanding of mainframe batch processing and enterprise level system integration.

Nice To Have Skills

1. Experience in the financial industry especially Scotia

2. Experience with SAS or CICS mainframe development.

3. Experience working in an Agile lab or using Agile frameworks.

4. Exposure to Java or Azure environments.
