About Our Client : Our client is a well established and growing leader in the fintech space.

Position Scope :

Reporting to the VP of People Operations, the Senior Manager, Talent will design, implement, and maintain effective strategies to support the organization’s talent acquisition, retention, and motivation efforts.

This role is responsible for creating and delivering programs and policies that foster a positive employee culture and engagement.

The Senior Manager will also lead a team of four direct reports. This role offers a hybrid work model with 2-3 days in office / week.

Responsibilities : Talent Acquisition

Talent Acquisition

  • Develop a talent acquisition strategy aligned with current and future organizational needs. Create sourcing strategies to build strong external talent pipelines through community partnerships and campus recruiting, while also focusing on internal talent mobility.
  • Continuously evaluate the talent acquisition function to enhance processes, staying informed on market trends and best hiring practices.

Build and leverage a professional network to gain insights for ongoing improvement.

  • Lead a team of recruitment professionals to ensure that best practices are applied at every stage of the hiring process for all positions.
  • Manage external recruiting partnerships as needed to address high-volume hiring or specialized recruitment requirements.
  • Leverage data and analytics to establish Key Performance Indicators and other metrics to optimize recruitment efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure all recruitment practices adhere to legal standards and audit requirements.

Employer Branding

  • Develop and manage the organization's Employer Brand to attract both external candidates and engage internal employees.
  • Ensure Employer Branding is aligned with Corporate Branding and all external communications.
  • Oversee the entire Employee Experience and Lifecycle across the organization.
  • Lead the HR team in prioritizing programs and initiatives focused on enhancing the Employee Experience and Lifecycle, driving overall improvement.

Culture & Engagement

  • Lead the design and implementation of programs to enhance and improve organizational culture.
  • Oversee the organization’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, ensuring alignment with business strategy and employee engagement.

Manage the CSR budget and maintain governance and reporting for the program.

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive Corporate Giving strategy.
  • Oversee the maintenance and governance of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with audit standards and client requirements.

Lead the creation and implementation of new policies.

  • Lead the design and implementation of programs to enhance and improve organizational culture.
  • Ensure compliance with legislated policies, regularly updating them to meet evolving requirements.
  • Manage the bi-annual Culture Survey process, from roll out to action planning.
  • Lead the bi-annual Employee Opinion Survey, overseeing the full process from roll out to action plan development.

Talent Programs

Manage Talent programs which include succession management, performance management, onboarding, exit surveys, retention, diverse workforce planning, leadership development and workforce planning.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging

  • Develop and implement comprehensive Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) strategies that align with organizational goals and values, fostering an inclusive culture across all departments.
  • Create and deliver training programs to educate employees on DEIB principles and practices.
  • Guide the development and support of Employee Resource Groups to promote inclusion and engagement.
  • Regularly review and update company policies to ensure they reflect and promote equity and inclusion.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with external organizations and communities to support DEIB initiatives.
  • Analyze data to assess the impact of DEIB programs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement a tri-annual strategy for Employment Equity, leading annual reporting and ensuring continuous improvement in results.

Ensure Corporate Giving partners align with the Employment Equity strategy.

Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, offering guidance on DEIB best practices and strategies.

Presentations and Communications

  • Fully comprehend the information to be presented, including its objectives, benefits, and any changes it introduces.
  • Identify the target audience and tailor content to address their specific needs, concerns, and knowledge level.
  • Develop clear, concise, and engaging content.
  • Design visually appealing materials that enhance clarity and understanding.

People Management

  • Identify resource needs and obtain approvals for hiring to support the unit's objectives.
  • Coach and develop staff, seeking opportunities to enhance their capabilities.
  • Continuously monitor staff performance to identify concerns and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify and implement strategies and initiatives to maintain team cohesion.

Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 6-9 years of progressively responsible experience in talent management and acquisition.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR trends and best practices related to talent management and acquisition.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in managing talent programs including : succession management, performance management, onboarding, exit surveys, retention, diverse workforce, leadership development, workforce planning.

Required Skills and Knowledge :

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and other presentation tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experienced in strategic planning and change management.
  • Highly responsive and effective in fast-paced, complex environments.
  • Exceptional at building relationships and fostering connections.
  • Outgoing and approachable, adept at collaborating with others.
  • Proven track record of leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Results-oriented with a strong focus on customer service and process efficiency.
  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity in handling sensitive information.
  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.
