Project Management Office Manager
Your role and responsibilities
Leads the project team, establishes the project execution approach, and oversees the management of project resources, finances, schedule, and scope.
Ensures effective project hand-over, execution planning, and monitoring and control activities for internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals.
Defines project plan documents in relation to scope, budget, schedule and risk management.
- Oversees project implementation in terms of scope, costs, schedule, resources, risk management and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE).
- Ensures that the project follows execution best practices and ABB policies.
- Monitors and controls project progress, resource utilization, project financials, invoicing status, cost, expenses, revenues and cash flow.
- Proactively identifies, qualifies, quantifies and manages / mitigates project risks, as well as ensures all improvement opportunities are identified and pursued.
- Manages all aspects of Project Change Orders
- Supports Procurement and Logistics in supplier negotiations, claims, and project changes.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders through effective communication and collaboration.
- Acts as key contact for the customer and builds, maintains and enhances customer relationship by providing excellent service at all stages of the project.
- Manages the project according to agreed requirements, ensuring that all targets are met, and that relevant guidelines are followed.
- Monitors and controls project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, costs, expenses, revenue, and cash flow.
- Drives the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and acknowledgement by the customer.
- Follows PMO processes throughout project management phases and applies ABB execution tools and reporting guidelines.
- Ensures that the project consistently applies contract and claims management in accordance with ABB policies and contractual agreements.
- Captures, analyzes, and shares lessons learned throughout the project.
- Guides, coaches and develops the skills and knowledge of the project team.
- Supports local Sales and Tendering through early involvement in tenders.
- Is involved in continuous improvement of Project Management processes, tools, and templates.
- Ensures compliance with relevant cybersecurity regulations, standards, and contractual requirements.
Qualifications for the role
- 8 years of experience in project management dealing with medium complexity electrification projects.
- Demonstrated experience in management of project scope, financials, schedules, customers, vendors / subcontractors with strong, well-developed communication, influencing and coaching skills.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar with sound knowledge of electrical distribution systems Low / Med Voltage AC SwitchGear, MCCs, Transformer, Rectifiers and Switchboards.
- Knowledge of SAP, MS Projects, MS Office applications.
- PMP certification is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skill - French & English. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
