Manager, Project Management Excellence : Harvey 2620

We are recruiting a Manager, Project Management Excellence, to join our Burnaby head office.

Please note, this is NOT an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY role.

Responsibilities :

  • Build a culture of collaboration and trust across all company operating units
  • Continually drive corporate policy compliance, especially around project management and estimating
  • Conduct internal training, or ensure training is setup, when the assessment or observation indicates training is needed.
  • Work with HR to track assessments and training.
  • Assess the need to train Project Managers and Estimators on the topics below :
  • Companies, standards in Project Management
  • Companies’ policies and processes as they relate to Project Management
  • Industry best practices for a PM / EST
  • Software such as Accubid, CRM, Procore, ERP
  • Other skills needed for their role as a PM / Estimator
  • Standardizing and aligning best practices across company operating units
  • Train and mentor Project Manager’s with Job Status Reports and other reports
  • Monitor and manage compliance with Estimating and Project Management policies
  • Review Project Management policies and processes for relevancy and for the need for improvements
  • Contribute to aligning purpose, values, direction and standards across company, by supporting and mentoring PM / Est in conjunction with the leadership group
  • Mark Project Manager assessment surveys and review results with managers and employee
  • Assist, or observe estimate and technical reviews when requested by the operational manager or Chief Estimator
  • Keep up to date with the latest Industry best practices, trends, regulations, and risks
  • Approx. 20% travel to local branches (most is day travel)
  • Any other related duties required

Experience and Skills :

15+ years working in Project Management and Estimating electrical work in a construction / contracting environment with a track record of successful project delivery

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

  • Exceptional knowledge of PM best practices
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop others
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Accubid
  • Must be team player with good interpersonal and English communication skills

This is a fulltime position

Salary range : $110,000 to $150,000 per year, depending on experience

Competitive total compensation package after 3 months with RRSP matching to health and wellness reimbursement, and additional company days off.
