Based in Sudbury, Ontario, Compass is the Lead Agency for child & youth mental health services for the districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin.

Reporting directly to Director of Clinical and Client Services, the Clinical Manager provides clinical and administrative leadership, supervision and direction to ensure the overall effective and efficient delivery of all aspects of clinical and administrative services provided within the assigned area of responsibility.

DUTIES :

  • Provide clinical and administrative oversight and guidance to a multi-disciplinary team (i.e. Clinicians, Child and Youth Workers, etc.).
  • Support the development and implementation of evidence informed clinical practices and monitor treatment outcomes.
  • Facilitate and ensure a multi-disciplinary team process.
  • Represent the agency on relevant community initiatives.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop and manage supportive professional relationships, and have experience managing in a diverse environment that promotes inclusivity.
  • Assume responsibility for integrating the overall clinical directives to implement clinical services and activities that are culturally sensitive and reflective of the community.
  • Assume responsibility for the development of protocols and service agreements with community partners, including leading discussions for purchase of services, program development, facilitating service delivery discussions and coordinating services with community partners.
  • Participate in planning, budgeting and service delivery development.
  • Possess effective change management skills and abilities in an ever changing environment.
  • Develop clinical and operational policies, procedures and processes for services.
  • As part of the management team, report on clinical and administrative issues as required and provide feedback from regular review of service operations, documentation, and information procedures and systems.
  • Participate in the screening, interviews and selection of staff.
  • Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of staff including performance management.
  • Hold regular team meetings.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of services, budgets and staff.
  • Ability to participate on an on-call roster.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related discipline, or equivalent*;
  • Current registration to a professional college in Ontario is required;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ of experience working in a clinical leadership role and / or direct front-line clinical work;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ of experience in the children’s mental health sector with particular emphasis on the provision of clinical treatment of children, youth, and families;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of methods of intervention, assessment, counselling, support and training to promote community, family and individual development and well-being;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with youths who have complex mental health needs;
  • Knowledge of the Personal Health Information Protection Act, Mental Health Act, Child and Family Services Act, and Health Care Consent Act;
  • Strong knowledge and experience in the delivery of evidence informed practices and quality assurance processes with a demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in staff oversight and performance appraisals;
  • Leadership competencies to inspire, connect, deliver and transform;
  • Project Management experience, an asset;
  • Knowledge and appreciation of issues facing our diverse populations (i.e. Anishinabek cultures, Francophone, Immigrant / Refugee, LGBT2SQ, etc.);
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in oral and written communication skills in both official languages (English and French) is required;
  • Must be able to work flexible hours / on-call after hours / weekends as needed;
  • As determined by Compass
