Hold a diploma or degree in recreation / leisure studies and / or gerontology from a community college or universityWork every other weekend and rotate on‑call as neededLead and support a team with hands‑on training, coaching and supervisionDisplay a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families and team membersQualifications
Experience with shift scheduling, department spending and budgetSkills collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams to support a holistic recreational programExperience facilitating group activities and programsExperience auditing and evaluating documentation capturing resident participation engagement and holistic wellbeing in order to identify where programs can be improved to support the development of recreationExceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a teamSupport and embrace our resident‑centred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of customer service to our residentsKnowledge of the five domains in therapeutic recreation that contribute to an individual’s healthKnowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident well‑being and holistic healthRequired experience : ManagerEEO Statement
