Job Summary
We areseeking skilled press officers and media relations professionals tojoin This Companys International Media Relations (IMR) Unit.
Therole includes developing and issuing press releases handinginquiries conducting interviews and handling media engagements.
TheInternational Media Relations (IMR) Unit functions as the Companysprimary point of contact for journalists and media outlets aroundthe world.
The unit performs a range of mediarelated tasksinvolving global print online and broadcast channels. Operating onthe front lines of media relations the unit is entrusted withsafeguarding and building the reputation of one of the worldsleading energy and chemicals companies.
Responsibilities :
- Build maintain and actively managerelationships with journalists and media outlets including Tier 1international titles trade and specialinterest publications(covering print online and broadcast channels).
- Provide functional support and advice to senior leaderson strategic media issues.
- Contribute tocrisis communication and response management.
- Support the Companys quarterly results announcementsincluding media calls and interviews.
- Preparemedia plans communications briefings and Q&A documents forexecutives.
- Coordinate media visits interviewsand background briefings.
- Develop corporateannouncements and press releases.
- Provideonsite media relations support to executives at internationalevents conferences and during company activities.
- Respond effectively to media inquiries in a timelymanner.
- Develop materials that effectivelycommunicate This Companys strategic objectives to globalmedia.
- Identify potential opportunities toengage with media on highvalue projects.
- Support story generation activities including proactivearticle and thought leadership development.
- Foster positive internal relationships across the companyto support the International Media Relations Units keyobjectives.
Requirements :
- This role required candidate topermanently relocate at Dhahran SaudiArabia.
- A successful candidateshould hold a Bachelors degree from a recognized and approvedprogram in the fields of journalism communications or a relatedfield with equivalent experience.
An advanced degree ispreferred.
- Candidate should have a minimum of3 years experience in journalism media relations or corporatecommunications gained in either an agency or inhouse corporatesetting ideally with previous experience in the energy oil and gassectors.
- Previous experience as a spokespersonis preferred while a proven track record in crisis communicationsis also an advantage.
- Strong networking skillsare essential and the role requires a strong understanding andexperience of working in the media or public relationsfield.
- The candidate should be able to developand maintain networks perform well under pressure and handle avariety of requests.
- Flexibility and goodorganizational skills are necessary. Candidates should also bedetailoriented with a strong sense of responsibility andaccountability.
- Strong interpersonal skillsare therefore key. Candidates should also be trustworthy displayingresponsibility and care when handling confidential or sensitivetopics.
