Computer Lab Volunteer

As women transitionto the job search phase of our program they gain access to ourcomputer lab. Here they utilize computers for tasks such as jobsearching application completion resume and cover letter editingand other online requirements essential for securing employment.

Our computer lab volunteers commit to one or more twohour shiftsper week or biweekly to oversee the lab and provide assistance tojob seekers asneeded.

Ourcomputer lab volunteers possess strong proficiency in Google SuiteMicrosoft Office and various online job search platforms.

Whilethis volunteer opportunity demands minimal time it plays a vitalrole in supporting women during their job search journey and isintegral to theirsuccess.

WHAT YOU WILL DO : Work collaboratively with multiple teams acrossthe organization. Communicate effectively with your team, teammanager and business customers.

Contribute and be accountable toyour team s activities and workload management. Maintainapplications ensuring they are running properly and efficiently.

Produce and maintain program code (mostly PL / SQL) anddocumentation. Understand, design, build and test change requests.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues. Assess the root cause of issuesand recommend changes. Perform systems testing with both IT andbusiness customers.

Provide support during various phases oftesting. Prepare documentation and instructions for the executionof application programs.

Reviews requirements with the users andprovides time estimates for task completion. Work as part of aproject team as required.

Follow IT Controls practices (e.g. ITGovernance, Data Privacy) to ensure quality output. Follow SystemsDevelopment Life Cycle best practices.

Continual learning andunderstanding of the application environment, interdependencies,and integrations with other systems.

Could include data managementactivities such as designing and building data interfaces andextracts, forms and reports, and designing logical and physicaldata models.

Potentially lead smallprojects. WHAT YOU WILL HAVE : A bachelor s degree or diploma inComputer Science or related technical discipline.

For Intermediatefive or more, Senior ten or more years of progressive experiencedeveloping and designing implementations with small to large scaleapplications with data manipulation components preferably usingPL / SQL or similar languages.

Ability to write efficient, complexqueries against very large data sets. Applied knowledge of Oracledevelopment tools. Proven experience in Object Oriented, Relationaland UML methodologies.

Exceptional consultation skills arecritical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to bothtechnical and non-technical audiences.

A mindset for contributingto a healthy culture in a supportive and collaborative teamenvironment. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communicationskills are required.

Exceptional planning, organizational,analytical, problem-solving skills. Demonstrated project leadershipexpertise would be highly beneficial.

Completion of Oracle PL / SQLDeveloper Certified Associate would be considered an asset.Experience with ETL development would be highly beneficial.

Strongdata management skills including sourcing, transforming andanalyzing data would be highly beneficial. Experience withdeveloping dashboards and reports would be highly beneficial.

Ability to establish and apply data visualization best practicesand graphical design principles would be highly beneficial.

ASSENIOR : Very strong skillset in PL / SQL development with experiencein complex designs. Experience leading a project or be a technicallead role.

Leadership skills to create positive, respectful andproductive working relationships with all types of stakeholders.The ability to think outside the box to solve complexproblems.
