Job Summary :
The Development Officer Events is a fund development professional that uses the vehicle of signature and community fundraising events to raise financial support to advance the mission and vision of CMHA Edmonton. This revenue-generating role is responsible for designing and delivering high-impact fundraising and engagement experiences that strengthen community connections and support the mission of CMHA Edmonton. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Donor Relations & Partnerships, this role oversees the organizations signature and third-party fundraising events, while cultivating meaningful relationships with volunteers, donors, and community partners.
Through thoughtful planning, relationship-building, and event execution, the Development Officer - Events will grow the visibility and impact of third-party fundraising in the community, while maintaining and deepening existing partnerships. Signature events under this portfolio includeMental Health Month,The Push Up Challenge, Annual General Meeting (AGM),Volunteer Appreciation, andDonor Appreciationeach serving as a platform to celebrate, engage, and inspire.
As part of this exciting role, The Development Officer - Events will have a volunteer management component, ensuring volunteers are trained, scheduled, and supported to contribute meaningfully to events and community initiatives. This role is ideal for a creative and organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about mobilizing people and resources to advance mental health in our community.
Key Deliverables for this role include :
- Collaborating closely with the Director Development & Communications and the Sr. Manager Donor Relations & Partnerships, contribute to the development of the annual fundraising plan, as well as the development of a third-party and events strategy for the organization.
- Planning and execution of CMHA Edmonton signature events with a focus on creating a memorable experience for attendees.
- Strengthen the community fundraising events and initiatives program through community outreach, exceptional donor experience, and strong stewardship and cultivation practices.
- Lead, identify and research third-party event opportunities, identifying new and existing opportunities with schools, corporations, and communities to increase revenue streams.
- Represent CMHA Edmonton at third-party, community, and signature events
- Create a positive volunteer experience through the training, scheduling, and support of event volunteers, working with the Volunteer Team Lead.
