3. Summary of the opportunity

• Client Overview : Microsoft Research Montréal is a research lab embedded in a large technology company setting. It focuses on advancing scientific discovery and technology innovation in Artificial Intelligence, in collaboration with the academic community.
• Role Summary : As the Business Program Manager, you will work closely with lab leaders to drive operational excellence, refine business practices, and ensure a positive employee experience.

You will collaborate with peers in other locations to share best practices and implement MSR-wide goals.

4. What are the key responsibilities?

• Confer with lab leadership to create project plans within resource management and compliance programs.
• Focus on recruiting and procurement, addressing specialized needs of Microsoft Research labs.
• Foster and manage cross-departmental stakeholder relationships, particularly with IT and Facilities.
• Support project-based requests and participate in special projects with other Microsoft Research labs.

5. What experience are we looking for to drive success?

• MUST-Have Skills and Qualifications :
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance or related field AND 6+ years of work experience in program / project management, process management, Operations, Finance or related fields
• 2 years demonstrated experience managing cross-departmental relationships within a large-scale organization
• Business-level fluency in French and English
• Preferred Skills and Qualifications :
• PMI or PMP certification
• Agility in navigating complexities of large-scale, matrixed organizations
• Work or educational experience in an academic environment
• Ability to establish rapport quickly and persuade multiple stakeholders with diverse working styles & perspectives
• Ability to work under ambiguity without local supervision
• Highly collaborative problem-preventing and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks and projects in parallel
• Knowledge of the Montreal business ecosystem or similar urban business landscapes
• Knowledge of immigration visa and work permit process
