As a climate change specialist, you will support public and private sector clients in achieving their sustainable development objectives related to decarbonization and climate change resilience of infrastructure across Canada.
You will actively participate in the analysis and integration of innovative, sustainable and resilient engineering solutions for large-scale projects across Canada.
This is a hybrid position based in one of our Quebec or Ottawa offices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor climate change projects with customers and other stakeholders.
- Carry out climate change risk and vulnerability analyses for buildings and various infrastructures (roads, ports, etc.).
- Carry out analyses in line with Climate Lens Assessment .
- Produce climate change adaptation plans for various types of projects according to recognized standards and guidelines.
- Participate in nature-based solutions (NBS) deployment projects.
- Evaluate and prioritize different carbon reduction measures and mitigation and carbon neutrality strategies.
- Write and present reports and climate action plans to customers.
- Keep abreast of the various guidelines, new standards and regulations relating to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and climate resilience in order to communicate them to customers.
Qualifications
- University degree in biology, environment, engineering, geography, land use planning, sustainable development or other relevant training
- Master’s degree in environmental science / management, biology, engineering, or other relevant training (an asset)
- A minimum of three to four years’ professional experience in climate resilience analysis and adaptation planning
- In-depth understanding of climate change principles, practices and industry standards
- Knowledge of the Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), an asset
- Organization skills, autonomy and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Good writing skills to prepare reports, presentation documents, customer proposals and other written communications
- Proficiency in spoken and written French and English (English is an asset for projects across Canada).
