The Work

A Technician is responsible for the set up and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a banking environment while ensuring complete employee satisfaction.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Desktop Support Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge and expertise in providing technical support for desktop systems, with a strong focus on AV support, particularly in Microsoft Teams Rooms and the Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal as well as PEXIP.

This is a critical role responsible for ensuring optimal performance and functionality of our AV systems, facilitating smooth communication and collaboration within our organization.

You will support onsite AV for events at our 351 KSE office- this is not a hybrid role.

The core parts of your role would be to :

  • Provide technical support for desktop systems, troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues, including but not limited to Microsoft Teams Rooms and Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot AV equipment, ensuring efficient functioning, including audio / video conferencing systems, microphones, speakers, projectors, and smart boards
  • Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft Teams Rooms and Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal across various locations, ensuring system connectivity and stability
  • Assist in the setup and configuration of AV systems for meetings, conferences, and special events, including equipment testing, cable management, and connectivity
  • Develop and maintain documentation, manuals, and knowledge base articles relating to AV systems, troubleshooting steps, and best practices to aid in issue resolution
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors for equipment procurement, maintenance, and repairs, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements and trends in AV technologies, particularly related to Microsoft Teams Rooms and the Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal and provide recommendations for system improvements and enhancements
  • Provide end-user training and support on AV equipment and systems usage, troubleshooting steps, and best practices
  • Assist in the implementation and execution of AV-related projects and initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams and IT management
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues and minimal disruption to operations
  • Adhere to IT department policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring compliance with security protocols and data protection regulations
  • Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section
  • Strives to exceed the expectations and needs of stakeholders and maintains a positive relationship with employee partners through effective communication
  • Meets with attendees on site to ensure that their needs are met, and the equipment setup is working properly
  • Monitors events and checks in throughout the day
  • Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrates basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues
  • Handles equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner
  • Interacts with other staff and outside vendors for equipment

Let’s Talk About You!

  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Teams Rooms and Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Proficiency in MS Teams Live events
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues related to AV systems, including audio / video conferencing equipment and peripherals
  • Solid understanding of video conferencing protocols
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently
  • Exceptional interpersonal and English language communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with end-users, third-party vendors, and cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Certifications in AV support, Microsoft Teams Rooms, or related technologies are a plus
  • At least 5+ years of business work experience ion AV and business knowledge / understanding
  • Adept with social media tooling (as a user) and Office 365
  • Understanding (as practitioner) of current collaboration and social media tools
  • Ability to pivot when necessary and quickly (flexibility)
  • Post secondary certification / undergrad preferred

Physical Demands / Working Conditions :

  • Willing to work during weekends, holidays and after hours if necessary
  • Some lifting of computer or av equipment may be required and occasionally will need to crawl under desks to reach av, network, and / or electrical outlets
  • Some travel may be required
