How You Will Contribute :
Manage a team of systems architects, providing leadership and oversight.
Collaborate cross-functionally to develop hardware architectures aligned with the product roadmap covering 6500, Waveserver, and ONID.
Drive team members to work closely with design and test teams throughout the entire development phase.
Drive resolution of complex field issues.
Work with PLM and release team on content prioritization and rollout.
Work with 3rd party vendors to drive technology alignment.
Help develop new processes and procedures for continual improvement.
Conduct performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities for team members.
Stay up-to-date with the latest optical networking technologies and trends.

Must Haves
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in hardware design and architecture, with a focus on optical networking platforms and coherent optical technology.
At least 3 years in a technology and / or people leadership role.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Assets
Strong knowledge of optical networking technologies and architectures.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Experience with product lifecycle management and release planning.
Experience working with 3rd party vendors and managing vendor relationships.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual pay range for this position is $142,500 - $227,700 CAD.
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business.
Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
