Senior Property Underwriter

We are currently in search of a Senior Property Underwriter to join our expanding team in Canada. This role, reporting directly to the Head of Property, requires a candidate with robust analytical skills, adept problem-solving abilities, and effective negotiation and communication capabilities.

Prior experience in property underwriting is essential.

Key Responsibilities :

• Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business to ensure profitability within established underwriting guidelines.
• Deliver exceptional service to brokers and clients throughout the underwriting process.
• Cultivate and sustain broker relationships to support business goals.
• Tailor client-focused solutions to meet individual needs.
• Manage timely processing of new and renewal business.
• Maintain accurate file organization and policy documentation.
• Conduct presentations for brokers and clients to facilitate business transactions.
• Enhance brand visibility by participating in industry events and conferences.

Your Qualifications :

• Demonstrates entrepreneurial drive and self-motivation.
• Possesses at least 5 years of underwriting experience in property risks, with a willingness to expand knowledge.
• Exhibits a strong grasp of property wordings and underwriting techniques.
• Proficient in time management and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Completion or pursuit of insurance courses is advantageous.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word & Outlook) is required.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of French and / or German is beneficial.
• Occasional travel to key markets may be necessary.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment while working independently.
