I'm currently looking for a Software Development Team Leader for my client in downtown Montreal. This is a permanent position, in hybrid mode.

Chatter Research is a leading B2B customer insight and engagement software-as-a-service (SaaS) that specializes in analyzing free-text conversations.

This role is customer-facing and involves working with the sales and product teams to analyze customer needs, and onboarding new customers.

The ideal candidate will take on parts of project management, team management, software architecture, and interact daily with product, sales and customers.

This is software that is rapidly evolving to provide text analysis solutions using generative AI and to extend messaging functionality.

Skills :

• Software development : Collaborate with the development team to implement, maintain and deploy new features.
• Customer Integration : Facilitate the onboarding process for new customers, ensuring a smooth transition and integration.
• Product management : Collaborate with the product team to define product requirements and roadmaps.
• Project Management : Oversee project schedules, deliverables and ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
• Team management : Lead and coach a team of software developers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Solutions architecture : Design and implement scalable and robust software solutions.
• Managing technical solutions for customers : Act as the technical point of contact for customers, respond to their needs and ensure their satisfaction.
• Rapid development : Lead rapid development cycles and maintain start-up speed to rapidly deliver innovative solutions.

Requirements :

• Technical Expertise : Strong technical background with experience in software development.
• Leadership skills : Proven experience in leading and managing a software development team.
• Project management : Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Customer-facing experience : Excellent communication skills and experience in a customer-facing technical role.
• Solutions architecture : Experience in designing and implementing software solutions.
• Problem-solving skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Adaptability : Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of Telco infrastructure : Understanding of telecom infrastructure from an ISV perspective.
• Experience of Agile methodologies : Familiarity with Agile development practices.

Your qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science or equivalent.
• More than 7 years' experience in software development.
• Solid knowledge of object-oriented software design principles.
• Strong interest in artificial intelligence and its applications. Knowledge of generative AI development.
• Experience with Python and Django.
• Experience with relational databases.
• Strong problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to work in the office 4-5 days a week.

Assets :

• Good knowledge of Ruby on Rails is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud or Azure.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Big Data and data engineering frameworks : Apache Beam, Google Cloud Data Flow, Google Big Query.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications architecture and concepts. Experience of Twilio APIs.
• Knowledge of customer service and customer experience in the retail sector.
