What can I expect to do in this role?
As an Architect in the Health Care Investment Branch, you will :
- provide architectural design expertise, support and advice in the development of regional asset management plans, strategies and recommendations.
- represent the ministry in municipal, provincial, and national forums to develop national healthcare designs and standards.
- negotiate solutions to planning and design issues / barriers in the development of capital projects and regional asset management plans.
- participate in the development and review of business cases, and makes recommendations for infrastructure projects.
- assist in the monitoring and review of property and project delivery services by service providers, ensuring that specifications, ministry relevant standards, guidelines and best practices are met.
How do I qualify?
Mandatory
The successful candidate must have a degree in Architecture and have current licensed membership in the Ontario Association of Architects.
Technical expertise :
- You have knowledge of theories, principles, practices and standards of architecture, the Ontario Architects Act, regulations and by-laws of the Ontario Association of Architects and other industry design standards.
- You can provide architectural guidance, expertise and advice during all phases of the planning, bidding, design and construction process.
Project management skills :
- You can review project plans / drawings and contract agreements and provide feedback and recommendations.
- You have well developed organizational and time management skills to meet project schedules and timelines.
- You can research and analyze data, trends and project outcomes.
Communication and consultation skills :
- You can lead consultations with stakeholders.
- You can build relationships to consult and collaborate with team members.
- You have well developed communication skills to prepare written correspondences and presentations.
Leadership skills :
- You have experience providing guidance and direction to staff, partners and service provides on architectural and Ministry standards.
