The Firmware Engineering Co-op will perform project-oriented work under the direction of firmware development engineers that are focused on developing firmware for implementing features to control variable frequency drives (VFDs).

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Design and develop firmware.
• Product testing and certification.
• Coding activities (C / C++ and / or MATLAB / Simulink).
• Maintain and develop test setups.
• Maintain firmware metrics.
• Document firmware applications and components.
• Research into new technologies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Available to work 9 months, September 2024 through June 2025
• Must hold proof of Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
• Minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited college or university.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Available to work 12 months, September 2024 through September 2025
• Must be working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college or university.
• Previous internship or co-op experience.
• Experience with C / C++ or MATLAB / Simulink.
• Exposure to oscilloscopes, multimeters and other hardware tools.
• Knowledge of PLC programming and Control Systems.
