Job Summary :
Reporting to the Director, Biostatistics and Data Management, the Cardiac Statistical Analyst is responsible for independent and collaborative analyses, interpretation and reporting of cardiac data for Cardiac Services BC, an agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), the Ministry of Health Services, care providers and administrators in the Health Authorities. This position supports the monitoring of cardiac interventions and cardiac service performance indicators for planning, implementation and evaluation of cardiac care in BC. In addition to the preparation of standard regular reports, this position prepares periodic summaries and detailed analyses of trends and developments using appropriate statistical modeling tools and tests. This position is also responsible for managing data for statistical analysis to support policy and clinical research.

Qualifications :
A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Masters in Statistics or Biostatistics, plus a minimum of one year recent related experience in health care and / or the health information field.
Advanced knowledge of descriptive statistics, statistical inference and modeling. Strong analytical, problem-solving and system analysis skills including the ability to comprehend complex issues and related data / information. Demonstrated ability to develop complex and customized queries for relational databases. Ability to function in a self-directed manner and handle multiple concurrent tasks. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated interpersonal skills with a variety of people.
