Altis Recruitment is partnering with a public sector client to find a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join their growing team for a 6-month contract. In this role, you will :
Process daily financial transactions and ensure everything is accurate according to established guidelines.
Respond to inquiries from both internal and external clients, answer questions about policies, and resolve or escalate issues as needed.
Provide administrative support for various financial programs, including travel, professional development allowances, and fleet vehicles.
Handle contract administration tasks like creating purchase orders and maintaining procurement records.
Prepare monthly reports, reconcile accounts, and assist with creating financial statements.
Gather and compile data to support reporting on the Judiciary's financial health, including the operating budget.
Maintain various financial systems, track resource allocation, and support budget development.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, Finance and Administration.
To be successful, you will :
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Possess at least two years of experience in a financial role, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, or bookkeeping.
Be proficient in budgeting, financial analysis, spreadsheets, data entry, and standard computer applications.
Have experience with database applications.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial policies.
Have a proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
