Altis Recruitment is partnering with a public sector client to find a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join their growing team for a 6-month contract. In this role, you will :
- Process daily financial transactions and ensure everything is accurate according to established guidelines.
- Respond to inquiries from both internal and external clients, answer questions about policies, and resolve or escalate issues as needed.
- Provide administrative support for various financial programs, including travel, professional development allowances, and fleet vehicles.
- Handle contract administration tasks like creating purchase orders and maintaining procurement records.
- Prepare monthly reports, reconcile accounts, and assist with creating financial statements.
- Gather and compile data to support reporting on the Judiciary's financial health, including the operating budget.
- Maintain various financial systems, track resource allocation, and support budget development.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, Finance and Administration.
To be successful, you will :
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.Possess at least two years of experience in a financial role, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, or bookkeeping.Be proficient in budgeting, financial analysis, spreadsheets, data entry, and standard computer applications.Have experience with database applications.Demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial policies.Have a proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
