Finance Manager, Quality Assurance

We are looking for a Finance Manager, Quality Assurance to be responsible for ensuring Aviva Canada Finance maintains strong quality assurance and effective finance operation controls practices.
This role will contribute to designing, documenting, assessing, reviewing and recommending quality assurance and control actions to be implemented in Finance Operations.

What you'll do :
Evaluate quality assurance from a design and operating effectiveness perspective.
Manage and drive quality assurance policies and processes, including analysis of internal controls in all finance operation aspects.
Actively engage in continuous improvement, transformation and efficiency projects with focus on growing efficiency while maintaining the high level of quality assurance.
Solid understanding of crafting and developing control framework to prevent material accounting and reporting mistakes.
Experience in a financial service insurance will be considered an asset.
Experience in managing senior level relationships and influencing their behaviour.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop effective collaborator relationships.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal ability to clearly present ideas and findings to others.
Strong sense of data quality control and data governance
What you'll bring :
Qualified accountant with CPA designation or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Computer Science, Mathematics or Business Admin.)
Five years working experience in finance operations, financial or operational audits with proven experience in managing customer expectation.
Strong working knowledge in financial accounting, finance systems and ERP.
Strong technical knowledge in insurance industry (general insurance and / or life insurance)
Excellent relationship builder and communicator with proven leadership and motivation ability.
Sound understanding of financial, strategic and expense management processes.
Proficiency with Oracle GL or SAP GL. Microsoft Project
Strong analytical skills and detail oriented.
Proven ability to embrace and lead change, be highly adaptable and flexible, decisive and display excellent judgment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
Strong consulting skill, ability to influence collaborators.
Effectively works within in a matrix & sophisticated environment.
