Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations toassess vision and eye health.
- Diagnose andtreat ocular diseases and conditions such as glaucoma cataracts anddiabetic retinopathy.
- Prescribe and fitcorrective lenses (glasses and contact lenses) based on patientneeds and lifestyle considerations.
- Provide preand postoperative care for patients undergoing ocularsurgeries.
- Educate patients on proper eye caretechniques lens options and availabletreatments.
- Maintain detailed and accuratepatient records using electronic medical records (EMR)systems.
- Collaborate with other healthcareprofessionals as needed for holistic patientcare.
- Stay updated on advancements inoptometric practices and participate in continuing educationopportunities.
Requirements :
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from anaccredited optometry school.
- Active license topractice optometry in AlbertaCanada.
- Demonstrated clinical proficiency andcompetence in performing eye exams and diagnosing eyeconditions.
- Strong interpersonal andcommunication skills with a patientcentric approach tocare.
- Ability to work effectively within ateambased healthcare environment.
- Commitment toongoing professional development andlearning.
