Critical examination of the social, cultural, political, and economic information contexts experienced by minority and underserved populations in Canada and in the global society.
The course examines barriers, enablers, and issues related to various forms of literacy, ethno-cultural practices, organizational structures, and user-centered knowledge and information preferences, with the goal of improving the information professional's cross-cultural skills and practices related to information access, service design, delivery, and evaluation.
