We are looking for a dynamic, experienced Vice President, Finance & Operations with a strong background in professional services firms.
The senior executive will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the company’s financial and operational functions.
This role involves comprehensive oversight of financial planning, operational efficiency, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
The VP will work closely with the executive team to develop and implement strategies that drive growth and profitability.
This role is essential for driving the financial and operational success of the organization and requires a senior expert with a deep understanding of financial activities and business operations.
Expertise with Canadian and US financial regulations are preferred.
Key Responsibilities :
- Strategic Financial Leadership : Formulate and implement financial strategies, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning to support the company’s strategic goals.
- Operational Excellence : Oversee the daily operations to ensure streamlined processes and optimal performance across all business units.
- Risk Management : Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks to protect the company’s assets and ensure sustainable growth.
- Regulatory Adherence : Ensure compliance with financial and operational regulations, maintaining high standards of governance and accountability.
- Team Development : Lead and develop the finance and operations teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Financial Reporting : Generate detailed financial reports and operational metrics for the executive team and board of directors, providing actionable insights.
- Investment Strategy : Manage the company’s investment portfolio, optimizing returns and aligning with the company’s financial objectives.
- Cost Efficiency : Implement cost control measures and operational efficiencies to enhance profitability and reduce waste.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration : Work closely with other departments to support overall business objectives and drive strategic initiatives.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.
g., MBA, CPA) are preferred
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in finance and operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience working in a professional services and / or billable type firm or organization
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, excellent leadership and communication abilities, and proficiency in financial and operational management software
- Extensive knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and operational best practices (Canada and US experience preferred)
