About the role :
We are currently seeking an HSE Advisor to join our dynamic team. As an integral member of the team, you will have the opportunity to actively drive Solaris’ Health, Safety and Environment program and activities.

Your pride in servicing our staff, making sure our COR certification stays current, and in initiating new programs to further the organization's safety culture, will be part of this diverse and interesting position.
Responsibilities :
- Maintains CORand coordinates / prepares annual audits
- Provides leadership and support to project managers, field staff, and subcontractors to help the team achieve Health, Safety & Environmentalgoals and objectives
- Implements and manages company and client Health and Safety programs
- Implements training for staff on specific safety policies and procedures
- Oversees Safe Work Practices such as permitting, lock out / tag out, confined space entry, etc.
- Assists in identifying and monitoring foreseen and unforeseen hazards in the workplace
- Leads incident investigations
- Works with others to investigate losses, near losses and hazard identifications in the workplace
- Completes and tracks all reporting of losses, near losses and hazard ID, including ensuring reports are compliant and closed out in a timely manner
- Performs site visits and field observations and inspections
- Coordinates and implementsHSE training for staff
- Ensures proper PPE is sufficiently ordered and distributed to staff
- Maintains online safety data management system (ISNetworld, etc.)
- Responsible for all Emergency Response Plans within the organization (first aid, fire wardens, etc.)
- Reviews and updates of HSE Management System documents
- Creates and updates corporate and site specific HSE guidelines and policies
- Liaises with WorkSafeBC
- Responsible for corporate COR audit readiness and chairs for the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC)
- Administers project related HSE
- Performs other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications :
- A minimum of5+ years of work experience in a similar role
- Certificate or Diploma in OH&S
- Working towards or has obtained CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation
- COR Certified Internal Auditor would be an asset
- Strong understanding of OH&S regulations is required (BC and AB)
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate and build positive internal and external relationships
- Demonstrated proficiencyin Microsoft Office software
- Presentation and training skills and experience
- Ability to maintaina high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong ability to take initiatives and self-driven to learn, commitment to continuous improvement
- Level 2 First Aid certification would be an asset
- Valid Driver’s License

Salary is based on an average of 37.5 hours a week. The competitive salary will be based on skills and experience.
Estimated range is between $75,000-$88,000+ / annually.
