Join our team! We are currently seeking a dynamic person to work as a Health & Safety Advisor in our Port Coquitlam location. The incumbent will be responsible to lead our Health & Safety plan, procedures and policies for our plant and construction sites in BC.

Main Job Responsibilities :
Develop, advise and support health and safety initiatives (policies, programs, procedures).Perform weekly facility inspections in conjunction with the Operations teams to ensure regulatory compliance and to identify potential hazards.Evaluate and prepare written report on workplace inspections.Evaluate the organization’s work practices in an effort to reduce or eliminate hazards.Develop risk assessments on various machines, provide most feasible recommendation to Operations.Lead incident investigations and provide support for all other incidents.Follow-up on open action items, legislative requirements, and support the implementation of corrective actions.Assist with development of safe operating procedures and best practices.Manage compensation claims and support completion of Form 7’s, and oversee return to work process.Lost time – Ensure the necessary process is completed (i.e. offering immediate modified duties) in order to eliminate the risk of a lost time.Facilitate employee onboarding and monitor training compliance.Create and assist with implementation of Health & Safety tracking processes..Support and monitor HSIP objectives along with Operation to make sure targeted deadlines are met.Facilitate and support hazard identification and analysis of hazardous work activities and corrective action planning and implementation.Lead and provide support to Joint Health & Safety Committees by monitoring committee activities, status of committee issues to identify and respond to information and learning needs.Ensures all H&S related incidents and their respective corrective actions are tracked, monitored and completed in a timely fashion.Ensure the on-going compliance of safety as per WorkSafe BC and best practices within the assigned Business Unit.Qualifications and Requirements :
Professional Diploma in Health & Safety;2 to 4 years of experience as a Health and Safety Advisor;Experience in the manufacturing and / or construction industry ;Travel around the GVA to our construction fields;Ability to create a positive health & safety culture on the field and in the shop;Great communication and social skills;Always put the health and safety of our employees the priority.At AGF we see some more than just a resume, we see more than just the working experience, it’s the person that counts.
