Bilingual Group Account Executive
Location : Hybrid- Montreal or Quebec City
Empire Life is looking to hire a Bilingual Group Account Executive to join our Group Distribution team! As the Group AE, you will be responsible for driving profitable net growth of group benefits business within a defined territory of Ontario.
Leveraging your knowledge of group insurance, strong consultative selling, relationship management, communication and negotiation skills, you will develop solid, long-term relationships with Distribution Partners and nurture these relationships to the mutual benefit of the Distribution Partners and Empire Life.
The Group Account Executive works with the broader Group Distribution Team while reporting to Regional Director, Group Sales.

What you’ll be working on
Drive profitable net sales growth of block of business through the development of new business and renewal of inforce block
Build and maintain strong relationships with Distribution Partners by initiating new business opportunities and effectively communicating the Empire Life value proposition
Adhere to sales activity based management practices and effectively employ strategic account management principles to achieve objectives
Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that acquisition and retention goals are met
Relationship and client management with Distribution Partners within defined block of business
Develop, implement and monitor territory sales business plan to meet or exceed annual financial objectives
Ensure timely, regular and complete documentation is updated in sales CRM tool
Effectively manage investment on new business and renewals within defined parameters to drive net sales growth; review monthly with internal stakeholders
Demonstrate integrity, leadership, and a customer centric approach
Be a supportive team member and share subject matter expertise
What we’re looking for you to have
5+ years work experience in the insurance industry with a group benefits carrier
Strong knowledge of group benefits underwriting principles and financial management, policy provisions, benefits and plan taxation, administrative provisions, claims practices, government legislation and benefits technology developments
Experience working with group benefits quotes, renewals, and interacting with advisors
Knowledge of the group insurance industry and sales activities of competitors
Excellent communication, negotiation, persuasion and presentation skills, relationship building and management skills
Ability to communicate information clearly to diverse audiences
Ability to be self-motivated, think logically, analyze and solve problems
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and prioritize
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, internet, CRM and database software
Completion of a university degree
GBA designation completed within first two years of employment / CEBS considered an asset
English is required for communicating with English speaking customers, advisors, or employees across Canada
