As a Yard Forklift Operator, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of products and materials, particularly cabinetry and trim materials, contributing to the smooth operation of our facilities.

Primary responsibilities :

• Operate a telescopic forklift, for the storage, transportation, and removal of materials.
• Load, unload, and stage products and materials in designated areas, ensuring accuracy and organization.
• Track and record units of materials handled to ensure accurate inventory, utilizing inventory management systems.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following safety protocols and guidelines.
• Assist in the organization of materials within the warehouse as well as in storage sheds to optimize storage space and streamline material retrieval.
• Coordinate with team members to ensure timely material flow, adhering to production schedules and deadlines.
• Report any hazards, issues, or incidents to management in a timely manner to prevent safety concerns.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the yard as well as keeping building entrances clear of debris and snow.

Requirements :

• Valid Forklift Certification is an asset.
• Experience operating a forklift (telescopic boom forklift is an asset)
• Experience in general labor, construction, or similar fields is preferred.
• Familiarity with operating industrial vehicles such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Ability to handle physical workloads, including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory and proper material handling.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
• Previous experience with inventory management systems or logistics software is a plus.
• A proactive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
