Status : Professional, Permanent, Full Time
Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, Crop Nutrients, this position will support the procurement process by sourcing, negotiating and procurement of goods and services in accordance with the Company's requirements and financial objectives.
The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of procurement processes and supplier management. This position offers excellent opportunities for growth and advancement within the Procurement Team.
This is a remote position.
Roles and responsibilities
The position requires supporting, participating in, and managing the tasks described below :
Manage purchase orders, purchase returns, early orders, and contracts, ensuring that products are delivered on time and within established quality parameters.
Manage any discrepancies in products not received.
- Manage discrepancies in invoices and credits from suppliers including pricing or terms, resolving errors with suppliers and updating systems.
- Participate in the analysis of purchasing data and trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvement and risk mitigation.
- Participate in the forecasting process.
- Participate in the supplier selection process.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, not limited to process implementations, daily work instruction, procedure development and governance on best business practices.
- Along with the strategic buyer, support the procurement process in conducting market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess their capabilities and gather pricing information.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring effective communication and follow-up on outstanding issues.
- Monitor stock inventory and position alignment with the purchase strategy and supply and demand plan.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, providing feedback and making recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements and contribute to the development of procurement plans to meet these needs.
- Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and organizational policies related to purchasing activities and follow operational procedures.
YOUR STRENGTHS
- Diploma / degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a similar role; entry-level candidates with relevant coursework or internships will be considered.
- Agricultural background or experience would be considered a strong asset.
- Basic understanding of purchasing processes, practices and terminology.
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with procurement software.
- You have a team spirit, a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.
