FSQA Technician

Amir Quality Meats is a wholesale meat production company located in Brampton Ontario with an immediate opening for a FSQA Technician.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated FSQA Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and verifying food safety and quality standards, accurately documenting inspection results, and managing production data related to food safety and quality assurance.

You will also be tasked with identifying and resolving discrepancies, responding to information requests, and ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.

Job description :

• Inspect the production area to ensure it meets cleanliness standards and approve it for production.
• Collect environmental samples for sanitation analysis to support hygiene improvement programs.
• Monitor, document, and present sanitation data trends to management, regulatory agencies, and auditors.
• Help the Sanitation Team investigate and enhance sanitation procedures.
• Guide contract sanitation workers on maintaining food safety measures.
• Gather samples and evaluate product quality, communicating results to Operations.
• Lead and advise Operators on production line quality control, formulation, critical control points, and documentation.
• Identify deviations in FSQA protocols and provide immediate coaching and training to ensure adherence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and implement corrective actions, focusing on foreign material and quality-critical issues.
• Support audit preparation, execution, and follow-up tasks, such as documentation, program review, training, and on-site inspections.
• Assist Production Supervisors with start-up tasks and activities.
• Perform additional duties as needed, including hold / release program management, inspection oversight, and decision-making.
• Provide support and assistance to CFIA inspectors upon request.
• Carry out other assigned tasks to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

What You’ll Bring :

• A Bachelor of Science, College Diploma in Food Safety / Science, or equivalent work experience.
• Preferably 1-3 years of technical experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Proficient understanding of Pre-requisite Programs, HACCP, CCPs, and GMPs for the food industry.
• Practical knowledge of sanitation processes, inspection, and audits.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Exceptional interpersonal abilities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Outstanding organization and planning capabilities.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Confident and adaptable to work with various personalities.
