You will be part of McKinsey’s Ethics & Compliance function, whose mission is to enable McKinsey’s client impact and innovation, while managing risks to the firm, our clients, and our people.
The Ethics & Compliance function is a globally integrated team within the second line of defense of the firm.
This role reports to the Director of Ethics & Compliance, Labor & Employment and will preferably be based in one of our US or Europe hubs with other global locations considered.
This role is open to various locations across the US and abroad*.
You will own and drive key workstreams in our Regulatory Labor & Employment Program pertaining to Employment, Immigration, and ESG regulations.
You will develop, deliver, and maintain a global compliance program including risk, governance, education, and monitoring workflows within an established framework for employment-related risks and how the mitigation of those risks will be monitored and measured through the firm’s control framework.
You will develop close working partnerships with our broader Legal and Risk functions to understand our legal obligations for specific laws and requirements pertaining to labor and employment-related issues.
You will also deliver on the enterprise labor and employment compliance program, including reviewing and updating the governance and other related documents, participating in the firm’s risk assessment process and mitigation of labor and employment-related risk.
You will be a sought-after expert on immigration and visa requirements and development and design of technology solutions for compliance.
You will monitor adherence to the firm’s Global Labor and Employment Policies, standards, and relevant procedures; maintain up-to-date knowledge on key labor and employment regulatory changes, key enforcement actions, and related industry trends.
You will be expected to interact with firm stakeholders to raise awareness of labor and employment trends, emerging issues, remedial actions, or enhancements to the program.
You will also provide advice to firm on an ongoing basis on new business initiatives, new products, business acquisitions, and related matters with respect to applicability of labor and employment policies and governance, including the identification and resolution of potential red flags.
You will participate in firm labor and employment-related compliance strategy initiatives, develop and execute KPIs, and otherwise support firm-related labor and employment compliance initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree or certifications preferred (e.g. JD or CPA)
- 7+ years of professional experience
- 3+ years in driving ethics, compliance, risk, legal, corporate governance, and / or public policy in a large organization
- Prior experience or knowledge of ESG, Human Rights regulations and underlying compliance program requirements, due diligence, and development of regulatory reporting disclosures
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
- Highly collaborative instincts, deftly leveraging highly credible expertise with ability to influence others by providing a clear perspective on multifaceted issues
- Ability to drive cross-functional projects with complex and global stakeholders across all levels of seniority
