- You have graduated with your bachelor's degree in 2024, 2025 or will graduate by May 2026
- Or, you are currently completing a master's degree in a related field, you are graduating by May 2026, and have a maximum of 1 year between completing your bachelor's degree and enrolling in your master's program.

- Valid, permanent driver's license (Ontario Class G)
This position is in the Maintenance Technical Services department, providing technical support for all substation power equipment, based in our Central Maintenance Services shop in Pickering. Duties will include participating in high-voltage insulation testing, including partial discharge testing and loss factor testing, at sites all over Ontario. Interest in high-voltage electrical insulation physics is preferred, ability to travel anywhere the province is essential.

Assist with the provision of specialized advice, guidance, assistance and functional direction to regional, and other divisions within Hydro One on all matters falling within the scope of the assigned function and covering matters; such as, equipment or facility design, specifications, commissioning, operation, maintenance, field testing and as required under emergency conditions, the coordination of service arrangements (material, manpower) to allow restoration of service.Participate in the development, interpretation and implementation of standards, directives and procedures for the inspection, commissioning, operation, maintenance, performance and reliability of equipment and systems. Participate in the development or revision of equipment work programs to provide maintenance cycles consistent with economical and adequately reliable operation. Visit field locations to provide instruction or guidance to field staff on implementation of specific projects.Perform technical studies relating to the engineering design and performance of equipment and facilities to develop new techniques, technology and modifications of design features. Participate in the provision of authoritative recommendations on design-related aspects of equipment and facilities, including complex calculations, such as, determining loading capability to establish system equipment operating limits for use by Power System Operations Division and Hydraulic Generation and Transmission Operations Division, or to establish and approve safe loading for personnel work access devices.Investigate equipment failure, malfunction or other unusual occurrences as such occur within transmission stations. Participate in field examination and conduct an analysis relative to the adequacy of design and fabrication, application, maintenance, etc, to determine specific causes of interruption. Confer with manufacturers and other interested groups within Hydro One on design or fabrication deficiencies and required modifications to correct and to ensure that modifications appropriate to this operational experience are incorporated into new equipment or facilities. Meet with manufacturers' representatives either personally or in company with other Hydro One representatives to discuss the nature of deficiencies / failures and their root cause.Maintain liaison between regional and Head Office engineering groups to convey viewpoints on all matters associated with station maintenance, replacement or rehabilitation of stations, maintenance facilities for new stations and design, scheduling of equipment outages and other activities. Provide operational feedback and recommendations for design revisions of new installations.Maintain an awareness of advancing technology in pertinent areas. Prepare instructional material; such as, for power maintenance electricians or others in the station maintenance discipline, including supervisory staff.Perform other duties as required.Job Requirements :
