THE COMPANY
A leading firm in Western Canada is seeking a talented and detail oriented Architectural Technologist to join their busy team in Victoria, British Columbia.
As an Architectural Technologist, you will play a key role in transforming architectural designs into practical, buildable projects.
Given the large housing demand, this firm work a lot with multi-family wood-frame projects (4-6 storey), as well as hospitality, commercial and senior healthcare projects across both wood-frame as well as concrete steel construction.
THE JOB
Prepare detailed architectural drawings, plans, and construction documents using Revit and SketchUp
Assist architects in developing and refining design concepts.
Conduct site visits and surveys to collect data and assess project requirements.
Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards.
Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
Create 3D models and visualizations to support design development and client presentations.
Review and revise drawings and documents based on feedback from architects, clients, and regulatory bodies.
Monitor project progress and provide technical support throughout the construction phase.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Diploma n Architectural Technology, Architecture, or a related field.
6+ years of experience in an architectural technologist or related role, with at least 3 years of experience working with the Canadian bylaws and building codes
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and other relevant design software.
Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction techniques.
Excellent technical drawing and drafting skills.
Ability to create accurate and detailed 3D models and visualizations.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
