Responsibilities :
- Support the PA / DM in creating comprehensive Construction Documents of high quality and ensure the details of the building envelope are in line with engineering and Building Code standards.
- Generate top-notch construction documents and manage construction contracts.
- Aid the team in successfully producing and delivering all project necessities (drawings, reports, specifications, etc.
across all project stages from schematic design to completion.
- As an integral member of the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) team, assist the PA / DM in coordinating project documentation across all disciplines.
- Possess robust graphic / visualization skills and can create plans, sections, elevations, and views of projects for presentations to clients, authorities, and other important external stakeholders.
- Provide guidance on the creation of project specifications related to building envelope assemblies, materials, and details.
- Create wall sections and details that align with the design intent and are based on the best practices of Building Envelope science.
- Assist the team in maintaining the project schedule and achieving project goals and milestones.
- Concentrate on the quality of deliverables by ensuring compliance with the Omicron Quality Assurance and Quality Control Protocols as outlined in the Omicron Process Directory.
- Attend coordination meetings as directed by the PA / DM and respond to information requests.
- Exhibit effective leadership skills, with an emphasis on mentoring and coaching.
- Attend project and / or site meetings, record the proceedings, and generate minutes.
- Participate in the Construction Contract Administration phase to coordinate and review submittals and Requests for Information.
- Carry out other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a prime (Architectural) consulting environment.
- Experience in working on project teams and contributing to all stages of project development.
- Diploma and / or Degree in Architectural Building Technology from a recognized technological institute.
- Registration with the Provincial Architectural Association as an Architectural Technologist is beneficial.
- Proven expertise in design and / or technical areas.
- Comprehensive understanding of BC building code and bylaw requirements to assist with the creation of documents to meet municipal requirements.
- Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD as well as the MS Office suite of tools.
- Knowledge of various building systems and technologies including Building Envelope Science.
- High level of Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
- Demonstrates a significant level of initiative and independent judgement while performing work duties.
- Establishes a specialization in Building Envelope, Code, QA, Sustainability, Revit, Project Type or other.
- High level of personal integrity and a strong work ethic.
- Fulfills promises made internally and externally.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
