Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a marine organization in North Vancouver, BC. We are seeking an HR Support Specialist to join their team immediately.
This is a 3-month contract with the potential to extend. You will be working Monday to Friday in an office with a great team.
Please note you will work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Monday start date : 5 : 30 am, Tuesday-Friday is 8 : 00am 430 pm.
This is a full-time on-site role.
Your new role
- It acts as a first line of HR support for the unionized workforce in resolution of a wide variety of employee issues. Actively triaging, resolving, and / or escalating each item;
- remains online and available to answer employee inquiries and phone calls using call centre technology according to the team’s collectively-created support schedule;
- Supports various on HR programs & processes including onboarding, leave of absences, resignations, retirements, medical absence, learning and development and recognition.
- Perform transactional and data / records management activities in the HR system
- Partners with payroll to ensure accurate processing of transactions
- Initiate andplete the onboarding process by taking appropriate steps in HRIS and generating required documents. Manage, track and monitor the onboarding process munications, notifications, employment agreement, background checks)
- Accountable for the maintenance of employee files
- Participate in small process improvement initiatives that require basic working knowledge of project management.
What you'll need to succeed
- 1+ years experience in administration or human resources.
- Basic working knowledge of project management.
- Bachelor's degree or College diploma in Human Resources, Business or a related field.
- Please note that you own a vehicle with a driver's license.
