Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic and hands‑on Manager of Engineering to lead engineering operations across Organigram’s Moncton, Winnipeg, and Lac‑Supérieur facilities. Based in Moncton, this role reports directly to the Senior Director of Engineering and maintains a strong dotted‑line relationship with the General Managers across the three sites, involving frequent collaboration and guidance. The successful candidate will oversee a team of engineers and EITs, driving capital projects, continuous improvement, and operational support. The ideal candidate brings expertise in manufacturing engineering, a foundation in Lean Manufacturing and CAPEX project management, and a proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced, regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage engineering activities across three production sites ensuring alignment with corporate goals and operational excellence.
- Lead the planning and execution of CAPEX projects ensuring budget, schedule and quality requirements are met.
- Oversee continuous improvement initiatives to increase profitability, reduce waste, improve efficiency and enhance product quality.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, R&D, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain and other departments to provide technical support, including troubleshooting, training, data analysis and collection.
- Develop and manage engineering budgets, forecasts, and resource planning.
- Provide technical mentorship and strategic direction to a team of engineers and EITs, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Technology, or equivalent is required.P.Eng designation is an asset.Minimum eight years of progressive experience in Engineering and Operations in KPI‑driven roles involving Manufacturing, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Project Management and Production / Ops Management.Minimum two years of leadership experience.Experience in the cannabis, pharmaceutical, food or CPG industries is an asset.Proficiency in ERP systems as well as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other MS Office products. Experience with MS Dynamics 365, SAP, or equivalent considered an asset.Expertise in the application of continuous improvement methodologies including Lean Manufacturing.
