The Portfolio Manager, Digital Engagement leads the social media strategy, content creation, and audience engagement for the organization.

Reporting to our Director, Brand and Corporate Communications you will employ advanced analytics to gauge website and social performance, delivering key insights to the leadership.

Additionally, you will take a hands-on approach in optimizing the online user journey, guiding SEO strategies, overseeing marketing automation integrations, and supporting podcast projects to fortify United Way's digital narrative and engagement.

The Day to Day and beyond :

  • Support and deploy content across United Way website, microsites and other digital channels, integrating innovative best practices into the overarching content strategy, while also providing necessary writing support.
  • Design and manage the website's infrastructure, utilizing customer journey maps, to ensure ease of navigation, optimal user experience, and alignment with our digital strategy and brand, guiding users from their initial touchpoint to conversion seamlessly.
  • Collaborate on the development of digital media / marketing strategy to elevate United Way’s online presence and voice.
  • Design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive dashboard to provide insights into web and digital performance, using tools such as Google Analytics and other relevant platforms.
  • Regularly update and guide new and existing website projects, encompassing content, SEO, design layout, and online properties, ensuring consistent brand presence and timely modifications.
  • Develop, design, and publish a wide variety of content with a primary focus on multiple social media platforms for the United Way and CEO specifically.
  • Attend events to capture and publish photos and videos, including creating graphics and infographics for promotional awareness and engagement activities.
  • Support the research and production of United Way stories to build brand awareness and increase donor and community engagement.
  • Monitor social media and engaging with followers; moderate the content threads and assists followers with questions and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Working with cross functional teams to plan, coordinate and deploy social media content to support company-wide activities.
  • Analyze, report, and review social media metrics providing specific analytics to internal teams, recommending adjustments and actionable insights based on KPIs.
  • Support podcast production and project coordination with the vendor and staff or volunteer teams
  • Develop customer journeys and content heat mapping to optimize user experience across various digital channels.
  • Work with the Product Marketing team on the delivery of marketing automation.
  • Oversee the development of content audits and environmental scans for customer online interaction.
  • Provide content and communications support for various United Way products and initiatives as needed.

Our ideal candidate has a good grasp of the not-for-profit / fund development sector, especially market opportunities and trends in philanthropy.

You are a relationship builder and thrive bringing projects together, this role will lead our internal teams and external stakeholders through every stage of product development and management, so strong facilitation and collaboration skills are essential.

And our candidate will be just as passionate about using metrics, data, and analytics to evaluate and refine products as they are about purpose and doing local good.

You thrive by thinking creatively, developing innovative ideas, and juggling multiple tasks and priorities. You love operating in a digital environment and are proficient with MS Office (we use Office 365 - MS Teams, SharePoint) and productivity tools like Asana and Mural.

You have a degree or diploma Marketing or in a related field plus four years of relevant experience. A combination of lived experience will be considered.

Experience in fundraising, non-profit, and creative fields, are all considered an asset.

A valid driver’s license and vehicle are required as travel may be involved within Edmonton and surrounding area.
