Atlantic Lottery is looking for a forward-thinking and hands-on Manager, Data Architecture and Governance to help lead the development and implementation of a new enterprise-wide function that enables trusted, high-quality, and well-architected data across the organization.As a key leader, you will define how data is structured, governed, and leveraged - designing scalable and sustainable data architectures that support business growth and innovation. Responsibilities Data Architecture LeadershipDevelop and maintain enterprise data frameworks, policies, and standards.Align data architecture with business goals and IT strategy.Define data ownership, classification, and lifecycle management.Design data flows and integration strategies to enable trusted access.Partner with IT and analytics teams to evolve data platforms and infrastructure.Monitor performance and recommend tools to enhance capabilities.Establish and report on data maturity KPIs.Enterprise Data GovernanceLead the rollout and maintenance of a corporate data governance program.Establish data stewardship practices and quality management structures.Chair the Data Governance Council to drive accountability and alignment.Collaborate with Security, Risk, and Compliance to ensure regulatory adherence.Strategic Enablement & AdvisoryAct as the enterprise subject matter expert on data architecture and governance.Provide thought leadership on how data can drive business performance.Support enterprise-wide personalization and marketing initiatives.Champion data literacy through training and awareness programs.Collaboration & Culture BuildingBuild strong relationships across departments and with external partners.Influence stakeholders to align on data priorities and strategy.Help instill a data-first mindset across the organization. Qualifications Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.Minimum 7 years of experience in data architecture, governance, or enterprise data strategy.At least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.Must be 19 years of age or older and reside in Atlantic Canada.Technical SkillsDeep understanding of data architecture tools, data quality frameworks, and metadata management.Proficient in data modeling, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing.Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and modern data stack tools.Familiarity with data analytics tools and software (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, Google 365).Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., PIPEDA, PCI, ISO 27001).Experience with system development life cycle (SDLC), agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and ITIL frameworks.Experience with enterprise systems and data integration tools.Proven track record of implementing data governance frameworks and enterprise data architecture.Professional SkillsProven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence at all levels.Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.Ability to influence teams, drive accountability, and lead cultural change.Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail.Resourceful and self-reliant; a strong self-starter with a passion for learning and performance improvement.Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, prioritize, and manage a variety of activities in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.Assets (Preferred but Not Required)Experience in gaming, lottery, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.Change management experience.Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP).TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification.Cloud Data Architect certifications (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).AL Benefits:Extended health coverage that includes medical, dental, and vision.Basic life insurance and disability.Defined Benefit Pension Plan.Four weeks of vacation annually (pro-rated) plus one week of management leave (pro-rated).
