Job Summary :
The Oncology Nurse is responsible for providing holistic cancer care to patients over the spectrum of the oncology experience : assessment, intervention, treatment administration, coordination of care and follow-up in the ambulatory setting.
The Oncology Nurse will participate in patient / family education, make pertinent nursing assessments, collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team and provide appropriate interventions.
Nursing staff work with cytotoxic and hazardous medications on a regular basis. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and training are provided.

Requirements :
- Current registration with College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) or will be within 6 weeks
- Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the applicable CCMB policy
- Knowledge of Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses, Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)
- Proficient with computers, software programs and applications such as MS Windows / Word / Outlook Satisfactory employment record
- Must be able to legally work in Canada
Preferred :
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Three (3) years’ experience within settings such as medical / surgical or ambulatory care
- Knowledge and experience with oncology
- Experience with electronic charting
- Ability to speak French
Asset :
- Certified Oncology Nurse CON(C)
- Knowledge and experience with wound care
- Knowledge and experience with patients receiving radiation therapy
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Leadership
