About the SKGABC
Since 1994 over 10,000 people have been involved with the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC. There are currently over 500 active members in the SKGABC, including guides, associate members, and company owners / operators.
Guides are certified to four different levels, and Level Three Guides may receive additional certification statuses.

Job Description :
BestCoast Outfitters is a kayaking and watersports equipment store interested in fostering local communities and creating a positive culture on Vancouver Island for kayaking enthusiasts.
We are currently seeking a part-time sales associate who can bring a professional, positive attitude to this position, and help us grow.
Along with being responsible for the sale of our products, you will assist in building, maintaining and operating the business.
An ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the following abilities and qualities :
- Experience with paddle sports
- Able to communicate effectively and clearly with both customers and team members
- Maintain a professional and friendly disposition in any situation that may arise
- A demonstrated ability to work both independently and with direction
- Excellent time management and organization
- Flexibility to work events outside scheduled store hours
- Flexibility to work on weekends
You will have some of the following skills and certifications :
- Previous experience in kayaking and / or other watersports, and instructor certification is a huge asset
- Excellent communication skills and customer service ability
- Previous retail or sales experience is considered an asset
- Experience with Shopify and Quickbooks is considered an asset
As a part of this position, the sales associate will be responsible for the following duties :
- Work with communications manager and assistant store manager to create monthly
- events and build the company’s online presence
- Plan and admin training courses and tours
- Maintain store inventory and organization
- Maintain the store manual
- Take payments from customers using Shopify Point of Sale
- Assist customers with product enquiries or concerns
- Maintain relationships with both existing and new customers
- Complete other duties as required by the store owner
Job Types : Part-time, Permanent
Pay : $20.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours : 28 32 per week
